On a scale from **0% (absolute black)** to **100% (pure white)**, lighter colors reflect more light, while darker shades absorb it. This value is critical when selecting a home’s exterior color, as it directly impacts **energy efficiency** and **temperature control**. - **High LRV Colors (50% and above):** These lighter shades reflect sunlight, helping to keep your home cooler and [**reducing energy bills.**](https://www.energy.gov/energysaver/home-cooling-systems) They are ideal for homes in hot, sunny climates like Florida. - **Low LRV Colors (Below 50%):** Darker shades create a more dramatic appearance but may cause surfaces to heat up faster, increasing cooling costs. Our Rhino Shield experts help balance aesthetics and functionality by considering LRV when guiding color choices, ensuring beauty and energy savings go hand in hand. ![lv chart](https://rhinoshieldflorida.com/wp-content/uploads/lv-chart.png) --- ## color selection ![swatches](https://rhinoshieldflorida.com/wp-content/uploads/swatches.png) #### **unlimited possibilities** Rhino Shield’s ceramic coatings can be tinted to virtually any color using [**high-grade paint tints**](https://www.astm.org/d0387-19.html) from trusted brands like [**Sherwin-Williams®**](https://www.sherwin-williams.com/).
